Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours records limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring website. This comes from cookies and analytics tools described in section 5.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to your enquiries and provide the coaching, resources, or materials you request;
  • send the brochure, results, or other content you asked for;
  • send newsletters and updates, where you have subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time);
  • schedule and manage coaching sessions and consultations;
  • improve the website, our content, and our services;
  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to those listed above without your consent.

We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your consent. You give consent when you submit a form, subscribe to our list, or otherwise provide your information for a stated purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting us (section 13). Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain services.

4. When we share information

We share personal information only as needed to operate our business, and only with service providers who are bound to protect it. These include:

  • Website hosting — our site is hosted on WP Engine and managed by Net Butlers Inc.
  • Scheduling — Calendly, for booking intro sessions and consultations.
  • Email and mailing list — our email service provider, used to deliver newsletters and respond to enquiries. [Confirm and name your provider, e.g. Mailchimp, before publishing.]
  • Analytics — tools that help us understand how the site is used (see section 5).

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Shift180 Coaching or others. If our business is sold or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

5. Cookies and analytics

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help the website function and let us measure how it is used. We use them to keep the site working properly and to gather aggregate, non-identifying statistics about visits. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as well as a result.

[Confirm which analytics you run, e.g. Google Analytics, and list it here. If you use Google Analytics, a link to Google’s privacy policy and an IP-anonymization note are good additions.]

6. Storage and cross-border processing

Some of our service providers — including our hosting, scheduling, email, and analytics tools — store and process data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is held in another country, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement, and regulatory authorities. We use reputable providers that apply appropriate safeguards. If you have questions about cross-border handling of your information, contact us using the details in section 13.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to maintain our client relationship, or to meet legal and accounting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

8. How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:

  • ask what personal information we hold about you and how it is used;
  • request access to that information;
  • ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • withdraw consent to our use of your information;
  • unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in each message.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 13. We will respond within the timeframes required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Alberta, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Our site links to third-party services such as Amazon, Google Play, Calendly, and Eventbrite. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

11. Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be posted here, and we encourage you to review the policy periodically.
